Healthy food for healthy hairs

Eat the correct balance of the following vitamins and minerals to supply hair with all that it needs to remain shiny, lustrous and strong...

Protein

As hair is made of protein, ensuring you have enough protein in your diet is crucial for making hair strong and healthy. If you are not consuming enough protein in your diet, your hair is likely to become dry, brittle and weak. Extremely low protein diets may result in hair loss. Choose chicken, turkey, fish, dairy products and eggs as excellent sources of protein along with vegetarian sources such as legumes and nuts.

Iron

Iron is an especially important mineral for hair and too little iron (anaemia) is a major cause of hair loss. The hair follicle and root are fed by a nutrient rich blood supply. When iron levels (serum ferritin) fall below a certain point, you may experience anaemia. This disrupts the nutrient supply to the follicle, affecting the hair growth cycle and may result in shedding. Animal products such as red meat, chicken and fish provide iron with a high bioavailability, meaning the iron is readily available to the body. Vegetarians can raise their iron stores by including lentils, spinach and other leafy green vegetables such as broccoli, kale and salad greens.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C aids the absorption of iron so foods high in vitamin C are good to eat in conjunction with iron-rich foods. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant so is used readily by the body. The best sources are blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. Vitamin C helps in the production of collagen that strengthens the capillaries that supply the hair shafts.

Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids are important fats our body cannot make itself, and therefore must be obtained through our diet. Omega-3s are found in the cells that line the scalp and also provide the oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated. Look out for oily fish such as salmon, herring, sardines, trout and mackerel and plant sources including avocado, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.

How to Maintain Healthy Hair???

1. It's normal to lose 100 to 150 strands of hair a day so don't panic when you see a small bunch crawling across your tiled floor.

2. Comb wet hair with extreme care because they're fragile and prone to breakage. Take a broad toothed comb and run it from the roots to the ends of your hair as gently as possible.
3. Trim your hair every few weeks to get rid of those brown and rough split ends. Cut about 1/4th an inch of your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid the split ends to grow out again.
4. Don't wash your hair everyday and whenever you do, apply some conditioner on the ends. Try and use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner.

5. Rinse the conditioner off with cold water as it is good for both strength and shine.

Deep Conditioning
Even though you condition your hair after every wash, nothing quite works as good as deep conditioning.Every once in a while wash your hair with shampoo, squeeze out the extra water and towel dry it. Then take generous amounts of conditioner and apply it right to the root of your hair. Use a broad toothed comb and run it through your hair to make sure the conditioner reaches everywhere.

Benefits oF Hair Transplant Surgery

Hair transplant surgery is the procedure that is used to implant hair follicles from a donor area of a patient's scalp to an area that has experienced hair loss. It is a mean of gaining your self confidence again.

Hair transplant surgery has continued to grow in popularity over the years due to success rates and improved technologies that make the surgery less invasive, the healing time quicker and more importantly a natural treatment.

Some of the benefits :-

Better Looks

Most people who deal with hair loss issues, loose their self confidence because of it. That feeling of being “ugly” or not normal because your hair is thin, or non existent - goes away with a hair transplant because you are now replacing that hairless area with locks that make you feel attractive and young all over again.

A Permanent Solution

Unlike topical treatments, or holistic remedies that say they might work to help grow back your hair, a hair transplant is permanent and the results will last. Once all surgeries are completed by the doctor, you can be done with the entire ordeal - forever.

Improved Self-Esteem

Not only are those who suffer from hair loss upset about their appearance in the mirror, but this often time has also lead to lowered self esteem because the person is feeling as if they are not living up to a societal norm, and there is nothing they can do to make themselves look more acceptable. With a hair transplant surgery, patients have hair growing again in the problem areas and not only do they like what they see again in the mirror, but that leads to improved self-esteem, higher levels of self confidence and much better outlook on life in general.

Cost Savings

While hair transplants are more costly than going out and buying a gimmick remedy from a drugstore , the truth is those remedies must be bought multiple times - and that is if they are even producing results in the first place. One way to think about it is that over time, the actual surgical procedure is saving more money overall than what you are paying out of pocket for treatments time and time again, that actually might not even be having a permanent effect. So always go for permanent ones.

A Natural Appearance

For years, people shied away from hair transplants and things like hair pieces to help mask their hair loss issues because they were seen as comical. Thanks to improvements in technology and techniques, surgeons have been able to perfect their craft and are now producing hair transplant results that are so natural, many people cannot even tell it was done. They give you natural and guaranteed results.

Stress effects on your hair and scalp

Now a days, Stress has created much more impact on our lives.Rapid heart rate, sleeplessness, upset stomach—the effects that stress has on your insides gets a lot of well-deserved attention, but we often overlook how it can affect what you can actually see on the outside, including your hair and scalp.

A major psychological or physical stress such as  a death in the family, surgery or childbirth can have a powerful effect on your entire body, potentially causing hairs to fall out  in clumps. The temporary condition, called telogen effluvium, begins around the time of the trauma, and causes a large number of hair follicles to suddenly shift from the growing phase to the resting phase. (Usually only about 10 percent of follicles are resting at any one time, which is what causes you to normally lose 100 hairs per day.) Increased shedding begins immediately following the trauma, but you may not notice it until two to three weeks later. Telogen effluvium can last for two to six months, and it can take up to 18 months for your follicles to completely recover.

Whether you’ve been putting in long hours at the office for months, dealing with an ongoing personal crisis or are simply experiencing a rough few days, your stress increases up the production of certain hormones and releases pro-inflammatory chemicals that can compromise your scalp’s barrier function. That means it’s easier for moisture to escape, potentially leaving your hair and scalp drier, and for irritants to get in and cause stinging, tingling and itching. Once this happens, even hair care products that may not have bothered you before may now cause an uncomfortable reaction making your hairs look dull.

The best way to address these symptoms is to manage your stress and what’s causing it; exercise, yoga and meditation can all help, too.in relaxing your mind.
If you feel like more hair than you would expect is falling out, or you are losing it quickly, it is worth checking in with your doctor: Significant hair loss can sometimes signal an underlying condition, such as anemia, polycystic ovary syndrome and certain thyroid disorders.

WAYS TO DO EFFECTIVE SHAMPOOING

Hair cleaning is something which is necessary for keeping your hairs away from dirt and dust. But doing it in right manner is what matters. Keep in mind some steps that can prove to be beneficial for your healthy locks.

1. Start with a rinse

Hair should be thoroughly wet before you add your shampoo. “Hot water" will open the cuticle, which is good for removing any dirt or product trapped in the hair. When your hair is rinsed in warm water, it loosens the oils through the scalp and opens the cuticle so it is able to absorb the oil.

2.  If  you have long hair, condition first.

If you have hair beneath the shoulders, protect fragile ends from drying out and further damage by running a small amount of conditioner through them and lightly rinsing, before any shampooing. This will not only keep ends healthy, it will fill any holes in the cuticle with moisture, making it smoother and boosting shine.

3. Lather up, but only at the scalp

The best way to lather up is from roots to ends. The hair closest to the scalp is the youngest and will inevitably be the oiliest, while the end of the hair is the oldest and usually driest, most fragile part of the hair.”
Don’t use more shampoo than you need add required amount only .

4.  Be gentle

Friction can permanently damage your hair’s cuticle, leading to breakage and frizz. Wash your hairS like very carefully. Start your lather at the roots,

Don’t use circular motions, which can tangle your hair.

Next, smooth the lather over the ends in a straight stroking motion,

5. Don't rinse and repeat

Try to do shampoo once only, but if  the hair is extremely dirty and the first shampoo didn’t produce a lather. In that case, go ahead and lather up one more time.

6. Finish with a cold water rinse

Cold water will shut the cuticle tight, sealing the shingle-like outer layer, which will cause it to reflect the most light and give off the most shine.

Premature Graying of hairs

Hair greying is an eventual and irreversible reality of life and is often associated with growing old. But how and why exactly does black turn white? The answer lies in a chemical called melanin. The root of every hair strand under the scalp is surrounded by a tube of hair tissue called hair follicle which contains pigment cells. These pigment cells produce the chemical called melanin that gives the hair strand its colour - black, brown, blonde. When a person grows older, these pigment cells begin to die and the melanin production reduces too, making the strand less colourful and more transparent - grey, silver or white. And that is why hair greying is associated with age.
Even though genetics and hereditary factors play a major role in determining the time of your hair turning grey.

Causes:

A number of medical conditions as well as lifestyle choices have been related to premature greying of hair.

Medical Conditions:

  • Thyroid Disease: An underactive or overactive thyroid can affect the melanin production in the hair which can cause premature greying.
  • B12 Deficiency: Deficiency of B12 has also been linked to premature greying of hair.
  • Vitiligo: Vitiligo is a disease that is caused when the pigment producing cells in your skin and hair are damaged. Once the cells in your scalp are damaged, melanin production is reduced  and hair begins to turn grey.
It is advisable to see a doctor if you experience premature greying of hair and have a reason to believe that it is not hereditary. This is essential so that you can rule out these serious disorders that have caused early hair greying.
While some medical conditions can be the cause for premature grayin

When to seek medical advice for hair loss ???

To some individuals, they view their hair as their greatest asset. To people who are suffering from hair loss, this is not the case. As opposed to being a source of pride and self-esteem, this very issue serves as an aspect that decreases their self-confidence and brings embarrassment to them.
People who experience more volume of hair loss on a regular basis should think about pursuing medical guidance. Going to the doctor about this is really important not simply to find out what causes it but also to ensure that there is no other related difficulty in addition to with the extreme hair loss.

Risk factors involved in hair loss

Beside from heredity, people who are enduring from terminal illnesses such as cancer and auto immune diseases such as those connected with thyroid also have greater threats for hair loss because the disease on their own weaken the immune system and affect hair growth. Taking in medications and medical treatment for certain illnesses and conditions also raises the risk to hair loss as well as alopecia areata, which may cause permanent baldness brought about by stress as well as other infections in the surroundings.

People who do not pay attention to suitable health and nutrition also have higher risks for hair loss especially those who are low in protein intake.  People who change hairstyles often and those who use too much hair treatments may also undergo temporary hair loss.
When medical advice is needed ??
The doctor will give you thorough consultation , will guide you about what causes your extreme hair loss.Might be some tests will be conducted and once all the tests have been made, she or he will then explain your condition and will try to give you medicine or offer you treatments for temporary hair loss. Since no treatment can cure permanent hair loss such as those caused by heredity and medical conditions, the doctor can give you choices to at least reduce down the rate of hair loss.
@cosmoworldclinics can guide you in better way and help you meet your realistic expectations.. For more CALL - 9643636652

Causes of hair thinning in young men ???

Thinning of the hair is a natural part of the aging process,  but many men experience hair loss prematurely. About 50 percent of men suffer from a type of hair loss called androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern baldness.

DHT

DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, is an adrogen, which is a product of the male hormone testosterone and the root cause of 95 percent of hair loss in male pattern baldness. Men have more DHT present in the body than women, explaining why they suffer more from hair loss. DHT kills the hair follicles by blocking them from receiving the nutrients they need to survive.

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata is the name given to hair loss when it appears in patches, and it can be another possible cause of hair loss in young, healthy males. An autoimmune disease, alopecia areata is the result of an overactive immune system attacking its own cells.

Other Forms

hair loss can be caused by poor nutrition, medications, hormonal changes, overly tight hairstyles, scarring and inflammation. Hair loss can also be caused by emotional or physical shock; this is known as telogen effluvium hair loss. In most cases these forms are often temporary.

LIFESTYLE THAT TRIGGERS FOR HAIR LOSS

Your diet gives you the building blocks necessary to support a healthy body, and if you do not give it the building blocks it needs to produce healthy hair, it won’t, the following substances and conditions are  linked to a greater chance for hair loss:

Image result for does sugary food cause hair loss

CAFFEINE

The studies revealed that men who drank higher levels of caffeine were more likely to have hair loss as they aged. One possible reason for this connection could be that caffeine triggers the stress response in the body. High levels of stress are linked with a greater likelihood of future hair loss.

STRESS

Are you constantly stressed? If you don’t relax you might be contributing to your hair loss. The studies found that men and women who led a more stressful lifestyle were more likely to lose their hair.

FATTY ACIDS

Researchers found that certain fatty acids helped protect hair while others interfered with hair health. A diet high in omega 6 fatty acids were more likely to lead to an increased risk for hair loss, while omega 3 fatty acids protected hair health.

SMOKING

Men and women who smoked were more likely to see hair loss in greater amounts than men and women who abstained from smoking.

ALCOHOL

Men and women who drank more than 1-2 glasses of an alcoholic beverage per night had a higher chance of balding as they aged.

DANDRUFF

Researchers found that dandruff weakens the hair follicle, leading to hair thinning and hair loss.

IS RECEDING HAIRLINE A PROBLEM ???

Aging brings a number of diseases and complaints and hair loss and baldness is one of them. Hair loss is more common in men as compared to women. The majority of people suffer from noticeable hair loss when they are in their 30s and this loss becomes serious as they go over 50 years old. As they enter their middle age, the thinning of hair begins turning into baldness and it is very upsetting to see your hairline receding day by day,it lowers down your self confidence. Through this post we will focus on receding hairlines in female and males as well as their causes...

RECEDING HAIRLINE IN MALES-

n men, this change is more noticeable as men have short hair and their hairline is easily differentiable. Mostly a man’s receding hairline is noticed by his friends earlier than himself.
Have regular check on your hairline for any gaps of hair on your scalp. Center part your hair and pull hair down to reveal your scalp and see if somewhere the gap is widened than before. If that is the case, it is clear indication of thinning of hair that can lead to receding hairline.
RECEDING HAIR LINE IN FEMALES-

Women can only notice the problem with thinning of hair as they rarely go bald so usually they don’t experience receding hairline. Thinning of hair can be extremely annoying for women as every woman loves her hair.
There are only two ways to detect the problem and one is to keep an eye on your hair tie like if you need another loop of the same hair band to secure your hair, it means that you have gradual hair loss.
Similarly check your hair brush regularly after every brushing session, if you daily see a lot of hair entangled in the brush, it is a clear sign of hair loss. Plus after every wash, there will be more hair seen on bathroom floor or in the bath tub when you are experiencing above average hair fall.
WHAT CAN BE THE CAUSES ???
  • There are several factors that contribute to receding hairline. Male pattern baldness is called androgenic alopecia and it originates through the production of dihydrotestosterone that shrinks the hair follicles by sticking to them.
  • Some people are genetically prone to baldness and any side of the family can be responsible for this hair loss.
  • Stress can also be a factor that causes receding hairline.
  • Receding hairline can occur as a result of taking drugs, alcohol, having gone through a trauma or surgery, being slowly poisoned, after effects of childbirth.
  • One of the main causes of receding hairline in women is the reduction of their estrogen levels. Similarly men can experience more hair fall when their testosterone levels decrease and that is why this problem is associated with ageing
  • Receding hairline in men and women can be a side effect of medicines of blood pressure, heart disease, depression, cholesterol, and gout.

How often you wash your head ???

How often should you wash your hair, this is the question that arises in your mind once in a while .Back in the day, we wouldn’t dream of going a whole hours without some shampoo, but then we started hearing that it is bad to wash your hair every day and there are even people out there who can make their blow-out last a whole week. so now we will try to find out the correct protocol for it.

Is there any thumb rule for the number of days you can go without washing your hair?

It depends on your hair type. Hair that’s thicker and curlier can go without a wash for longer than hair that is fine. For this reason, curly hair types should especially be careful not to wash hair too frequently—and avoid shampoos with harsh sulfates, which strip the hair of the natural oils. You can consider a co-wash (using a conditioner instead of shampoo) or use a sulfate-free shampoo if washing more than twice a week.

Lifestyle also plays a part. For example, if you workout daily, you’re going to need to wash your hair more often to feel clean after sweating. If you have an oily scalp and thin, fine hair, your hair will start to look flat and dirty after 24 hours. If your hair is pin straight, an oily scalp will show more easily too. The flip side is with thick, curly hair, you may be able to go three days without needing a shampoo.

Washing hair every day removes our natural oils and proteins, causing our hair to dry out quicker. Shampoo strips the oils from the hair, and we need those oils to help our scalp and hair to be healthy.

Some people shampoo so frequently and strip the natural oil in their hair so much that it becomes very frizzy and there day after hair actually looks better when oil has accumulated on the scalp to tame these wild hair shafts.

The correct way is to find a shampoo, conditioner, and a cocktail of products that balances your scalp and hair so you can wash every third or fifth day. If one has hair on the finer side it is recommended to use  a volumizing shampoo so that it remains light and won’t get greasy too fast. and if some one has course, dry, thick hair you need a shampoo that can moisturize and balance the scalp and hair.

At most, try washing your hair every other day. Every two days is even better ,If your hair gets oily after only a day, try using some hair powder or dry shampoo on your roots to soak up some of that excess oil. There are also tons of products on the market for in-between wash days that will help your hair get some extra lift and smell fresh. After the gym, or going out in pollution , cover your head and after coming back , you can rinse your hairs thoroughly with  water as well. You must wash use shampoo each time after a workout, try a shampoo that’s made for daily cleansing—they’re usually less harsh on your hair.

These are some of the daily cleansing tips that can help your hair stay longer and lustrous.

DERMA ROLLERS IN HAIR LOSS !!!

A derma roller is a handheld device with a wheel attached to a handle. The wheel is outfitted with tiny needles, just a few millimeters long. The device is rolled over the skin, causing the needles to press against the tissue. Originally, the derma roller was used to address skin imperfections, but now a days its been showing its result in hair loss treatment as well.

Hair growth relies on genes that promote the development of new hair cells. This takes place within the hair follicles, the small openings that cover the scalp as well as the rest of the body. A number of chemicals are needed to trigger the production of hair cells, and one of the most important of these is the human growth factor and  derma roller works by triggering the production of human growth factor. When the needles are rolled along the skin, they cause minor surface wounds to the tissue. The body then must work to produce new skin in the area of the wound and releases the human growth hormone and other chemicals to assist with this process and when these chemicals are released they also stimulate the growth of hair in the affected area, which can help begin regrowth in areas of thinning.

The Dermaroller works by causing very minor damage to the skin (puncturing the skin with the tiny needles). This encourages the skin to regenerate and heal, where it would otherwise not do so.
Because the Dermaroller stimulates regeneration in the areas it is applied to, it can also work to stimulate hair re-growth (in places where hair loss has occurred). Stimulating blood circulation has been proved effective in hair growth because it increases the supply to the scalp thus encouraging increased  hair growth.
Increased blood circulation in the scalp may also help reduce DHT levels in scalp because the increased blood flow may help remove more DHT from the hair papilla . Dermarollers can be used as one of the effective tools in hair loss.

Perm chemicals causing hair breakage and scalp pain

Trying out new trends to remain updated with the surroundings have become a necessity. Styling your hairs and giving them a new look makes you happy and we often try some latest things on hairs and end up landing with so many hair problems.

Even though getting a perm can be unpleasant at times, pain and hair breakage are not normal and should not accompany any perm service. All types of perms, including relaxers, use harsh chemicals that break down the chemical bonds of the hair. If used properly, the chemicals should not cause pain. However, operator error can lead to disastrous results including hair loss, chemical burns and severe hair damage.

Pain and scalp tenderness appear immediately after a harsh perm service. The irritated scalp and surrounding skin appears red. In extreme cases, blisters are present. Where there is pain, breakage usually follows. After a few days, breakage can be felt close to the scalp along the partings used for the perm rods. The breakage feels like stubble.

What can be the causes?

Several things can cause hair breakage and scalp pain after a perm. If the rods are rolled too tight against the head or if the rods are allowed to rock back and forth while rinsing or blotting, the scalp can become very sore. Breakage can occur if too much tension prevents the hair from expanding and shrinking during the perm process. The perm chemicals themselves can irritate or burn the scalp. If the chemicals are too harsh or if they are left on the head for too long, they weaken and break the hair.

TREATMENT AND PREVENTION

In the case of blisters and third-degree burns, seek medical attention. Treat mild irritation with aloe gel or soothing lotions. Treat extreme breakage with weekly conditioning treatments. While you cannot reverse breakage that has already occurred, you can prevent new breakage by strengthening and repairing the hair. Scalp pain and hair breakage are entirely preventable. Make sure that perm rods are placed in your hair with minimal tension. You should not be able to feel pulling once perm rods are in place. Wrap cotton rope around your hairline to prevent perm solution from pooling on the skin. Change the cotton immediately after the application of the perm solution. Alert your stylist to any burning or irritation felt during the perm process. Since most problems associated with perms are caused by stylist error, choose your stylist carefully.
