HOW TO BRUSH YOUR HAIR THE RIGHT WAY.

HOW TO BRUSH YOUR HAIR THE RIGHT WAY.

Do combing several times help?
Yes, combing serves a similar function as massaging and helps to keep your scalp and hair in good health.

Here is how:

Combing stimulates the scalp and helps increase blood flow. The increased circulation brings with it more oxygen and nutrients, which nourishes the hair roots and promote hair growth.
Combing also activates the sebaceous gland, which produces sebum (scalp’s natural oil). Along with keeping the scalp and hair moisturized, sebum coats the scalp surface and work to create the right pH balance which is very important for healthy hair.

Here is how often you should wash your hair suggested by our Experts:

Frequent hair combing also helps condition your hair. Combing moves the natural conditioning oils from your scalp down to the hair shaft thus conditioning these parts of the hair.
Here is how to condition your hair without using a conditioner.
* Combing also helps to loosen and remove dead skin which could clog the pores of the scalp and block the follicles, causing scalp irritation and breakouts on the scalp.
* It detangles hair and hence prevents breakage.

What is the normal number of times one must comb or brush hair in a day?

Many hair experts believe that over brushing/combing your hair will damage the hair. There is no right number. You can comb for 20, 50 or even 100 strokes. Do what feels right for your hair. And you can do it at night or morning it doesn’t matter as long as it’s done the right way. Just don’t be too harsh and apply a few drops of serum or argon oil if your hair is very messy or tangled.
The reason over brushing or combing must be avoided to prevent damage to your hair and could also scratch your scalp. If you are combing your dry hair, you can strip your hair’s cuticle, which is the outer layer consisting of many layers of shingles, leading to breakage and dull looking hair. So the bottom line is when it comes to combing or brushing your hair right don’t overdo it.
Here are few tips for effectively combing your hair:

1-Use wooden comb: its gentle, safer and no static charges
2-Use serum or argon oil before combing rough and tangled hair
3-Start at the bottom to untangle the ends first.
4-Always use a wide-tooth comb.
5-Brush wet hair too. There is no harm in doing so.

Understanding Hair Loss: Symptoms, Causes

Understanding Hair Loss: Symptoms, Causes
Everyone loses some hair every day. Losing up to 100 hairs a day is normal.
But if losing hairs runs in your family, you could lose a lot more hair. With this kind of hair loss, you may end up with bald spots if you are a man. If you are a woman, you may find that the hair on the top of your head is slowly thinning. About half of all people have this type of hair loss by around age 50.
Although hair loss is very common, it can be a tough thing to live with, as it has a lot to do with your appearance, losing it may cause you to have lower self-esteem if you don't like how you look especially in woman's. But there are different treatments available to treat your hair loss.
Common causes of hair loss include:
  • In most cases, hair loss is inherited, which means it's passed down from one or both of your parents. This is called male-pattern or female-pattern hair loss.
  • Stress, including physical stress from surgery, illness.
  • Damage to your hair from pulling it back too tightly, wearing tight braids or ponytails, or using curling irons or dyes.
  • Age. You grow less hair as you get older. Hair also gets thinner and tends to break more easily as you age.
  • Poor diet, especially not getting enough protein or iron.
  • Thyroid diseases
Your symptoms will depend on what kind of hair loss you have.
If your hair is thinning, it happens slowly over time, so you may not notice the hairs falling out. If your hair is shedding, then clumps of hair fall out. You may lose hair all over your scalp, which is called general hair loss. Or you may lose hair only in one area, which is called focal hair loss.
With inherited hair loss, men usually get bald spots around the forehead or on the top of the head, while women have some thinning all over the scalp, but mostly on the top of the head.Hair loss that runs in the family can be treated with medicines or hair transplant surgery.
When medicines, stress, or hair damage cause you to lose your hair, it often will grow back after you take away the cause. If this doesn't help, you may need other treatment.

Here are some tips for washing hairs that will really make your hairs look thicker, shinier and more resistant.
  • Always use any product for hair washing like shampoo on your scalp,by applying shampoo into the top section of your hair and then rinsing it out ,it automatically cleanses the ends and stops damage occurring in the lengths.
  • Extreme care should be taken while washing your hair and vigorous rubbing should be avoided.
  • Do not put too much pressure on your scalp as it can result in greasier hair.
  • Never use hot water for washing hairs as it activates the sebaceous gland which secretes oil and leaves hair greasy soon after washing.
  • Wash your hair in warm tepid water to enhance the life of your hairs.
  • Use clarifying shampoo, once a week to remove impurities and let your hair and scalp breathe.
  • To attain best results from your shampoo, make sure hair is well saturated with water, that will create best lather allowing the hair and scalp to be cleansed thoroughly.
  • Always finish with a conditioner appropriate for your hair type and avoid conditioner on the scalp to prevent oily roots.
  • Do not rub too hard and never towel dry your hair,it may create friction and can damage the cuticles leaving hair lifeless and dull.
  • Dabbing your hair with the towel ,followed by a quick squeeze to get rid of excess water is the best way out.
  • Never comb your hair straight after washing it,instead comb through it whilst the conditioner is setting in.
