Benefits of hair transplant surgery

Several people are concerned about how they look. Be it their nose, the distance of their eyes, their hairline, or their ears, everybody has his or her own complain about something. However, there are some who are unfortunate enough to receive unpleasant features on their faces.

A large percentage of the male population experiences hair loss during their lifetime. Several reasons for this occurrence include family history, aging as well as trauma or burns. There are also women who experience hair loss naturally. Although there are several alternatives, aside from cosmetic surgery, to battle hair loss, cosmetic surgery procedures offer a solution with a more natural result.

An ideal candidate for a hair transplant procedure is someone who has a healthy growth of hair at the sides and back of the head, self-conscious about his or her appearance, realistic goals and expectations

Probably one of the most important features of a hair transplant is that it uses the patient’s existing hair. There will be patches of hair taken from the back of the head for the reason that the hair at this specific area of the head is less likely to thin regardless where it gets transplanted.

The hair transplant procedure can provide a new and natural-looking head of hair. Although hair transplants do not actually add that much hair to the head, they can still provide an appearance of more hair in areas that are balding.
In addition, a hair transplant can also enhance one’s self-confidence by providing an appearance of a hairy head. There are even some individuals who earn additional contentment in knowing that the hair used for the procedure is their own.
Hair Transplant is the best  and most reliable method of gaining your confidence back.It is the modern day solution to fight baldness...

FEMALE PATTERN BALDNESS

Female pattern baldness involves a typical pattern of #hairloss in women, due to hormones, aging, and genes.

Causes

A hair grows from its follicle at an average rate of about 1/2 inch per month. Each hair grows for 2 to 6 years, then rests, and then falls out. A new hair soon begins growing in its place.
Baldness occurs when hair falls out and normal new hair does not grow in its place. The reason for female pattern baldness can be  related to:

  • Aging

  • Changes in the levels of androgens (male hormones). For example, after reaching menopause, many women find that the hair on their head is thinner, while the hair on their face is coarser.

  • Family history of male or female pattern baldness

Hair loss can occur in women for reasons other than female pattern baldness, including the following:
  • Breaking of hair (from treatments and twisting or pulling of hair, or hair shaft abnormalities that are present from birth)
  • Certain skin diseases that lead to scarring of the hair follicles
  • Certain autoimmune diseases

  • Hormone problems, such as too much testosterone, or too much or too little thyroid hormone
  • Too little iron
  • Too little vitamin B (biotin) or other vitamin deficiency
  • Medications such as chemotherapy and beta blockers
  • Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata )
  • Syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection
  • Temporary shedding of hair after a major illness, surgery, or pregnancy

Symptoms

Hair thinning is different from that of male pattern baldness. In female pattern baldness:
  • Hair thins mainly on the top and crown of the scalp. It usually starts with a widening through the center hair part.
  • The front hairline remains
  • The hair loss rarely progresses to total or near total baldness, as it may in men
Itching or skin sores on the scalp are generally NOT seen.

Exams and Tests

Female pattern baldness is usually diagnosed based on:
  • Ruling out other causes of hair loss
  • The appearance and pattern of hair loss
  • Your medical history
Our doctor  @cosmoworldclinics  will examine you for other signs of too much male hormone (androgen), such as:
  • Abnormal new hair growth, such as on the face or between the belly button and pubic area.
  • Changes in menstrual periods and enlargement of the clitoris
  • New acne
A skin biopsy or other procedures or blood tests may be used to diagnose skin disorders that cause hair loss.

How to Maintain Healthy Hair???

1. It's normal to lose 100 to 150 strands of hair a day so don't panic when you see a small bunch crawling across your tiled floor.

2. Comb wet hair with extreme care because they're fragile and prone to breakage. Take a broad toothed comb and run it from the roots to the ends of your hair as gently as possible.
3. Trim your hair every few weeks to get rid of those brown and rough split ends. Cut about 1/4th an inch of your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid the split ends to grow out again.
4. Don't wash your hair everyday and whenever you do, apply some conditioner on the ends. Try and use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner.

5. Rinse the conditioner off with cold water as it is good for both strength and shine.

Deep Conditioning
Even though you condition your hair after every wash, nothing quite works as good as deep conditioning.Every once in a while wash your hair with shampoo, squeeze out the extra water and towel dry it. Then take generous amounts of conditioner and apply it right to the root of your hair. Use a broad toothed comb and run it through your hair to make sure the conditioner reaches everywhere.

Benefits oF Hair Transplant Surgery

Hair transplant surgery is the procedure that is used to implant hair follicles from a donor area of a patient's scalp to an area that has experienced hair loss. It is a mean of gaining your self confidence again.

Hair transplant surgery has continued to grow in popularity over the years due to success rates and improved technologies that make the surgery less invasive, the healing time quicker and more importantly a natural treatment.

Some of the benefits :-

Better Looks

Most people who deal with hair loss issues, loose their self confidence because of it. That feeling of being “ugly” or not normal because your hair is thin, or non existent - goes away with a hair transplant because you are now replacing that hairless area with locks that make you feel attractive and young all over again.

A Permanent Solution

Unlike topical treatments, or holistic remedies that say they might work to help grow back your hair, a hair transplant is permanent and the results will last. Once all surgeries are completed by the doctor, you can be done with the entire ordeal - forever.

Improved Self-Esteem

Not only are those who suffer from hair loss upset about their appearance in the mirror, but this often time has also lead to lowered self esteem because the person is feeling as if they are not living up to a societal norm, and there is nothing they can do to make themselves look more acceptable. With a hair transplant surgery, patients have hair growing again in the problem areas and not only do they like what they see again in the mirror, but that leads to improved self-esteem, higher levels of self confidence and much better outlook on life in general.

Cost Savings

While hair transplants are more costly than going out and buying a gimmick remedy from a drugstore , the truth is those remedies must be bought multiple times - and that is if they are even producing results in the first place. One way to think about it is that over time, the actual surgical procedure is saving more money overall than what you are paying out of pocket for treatments time and time again, that actually might not even be having a permanent effect. So always go for permanent ones.

A Natural Appearance

For years, people shied away from hair transplants and things like hair pieces to help mask their hair loss issues because they were seen as comical. Thanks to improvements in technology and techniques, surgeons have been able to perfect their craft and are now producing hair transplant results that are so natural, many people cannot even tell it was done. They give you natural and guaranteed results.

Premature Graying of hairs

Hair greying is an eventual and irreversible reality of life and is often associated with growing old. But how and why exactly does black turn white? The answer lies in a chemical called melanin. The root of every hair strand under the scalp is surrounded by a tube of hair tissue called hair follicle which contains pigment cells. These pigment cells produce the chemical called melanin that gives the hair strand its colour - black, brown, blonde. When a person grows older, these pigment cells begin to die and the melanin production reduces too, making the strand less colourful and more transparent - grey, silver or white. And that is why hair greying is associated with age.
Even though genetics and hereditary factors play a major role in determining the time of your hair turning grey.

Causes:

A number of medical conditions as well as lifestyle choices have been related to premature greying of hair.

Medical Conditions:

  • Thyroid Disease: An underactive or overactive thyroid can affect the melanin production in the hair which can cause premature greying.
  • B12 Deficiency: Deficiency of B12 has also been linked to premature greying of hair.
  • Vitiligo: Vitiligo is a disease that is caused when the pigment producing cells in your skin and hair are damaged. Once the cells in your scalp are damaged, melanin production is reduced  and hair begins to turn grey.
It is advisable to see a doctor if you experience premature greying of hair and have a reason to believe that it is not hereditary. This is essential so that you can rule out these serious disorders that have caused early hair greying.
While some medical conditions can be the cause for premature grayin

DIET TO PREVENT HAIRLOSS !!!

Some dietary modifications can help you keep your hair healthy and strong. Have a look at some of the options :-

CARROTS -  It's not just the eyes, Vitamin A-rich carrots provide excellent nourishment for the scalp. A healthy scalp ensures shiny, well-conditioned hair that is strengthened and moisturized.  An overall balanced diet of lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables, whole grains, legumes, fatty fish like the Indian salmon and low-fat dairy are great boosters for healthy hair.

OATS - Not only are oats loaded with fiber that helps maintain a healthy heart and bowels, they also contain a high concentration of other essential nutrients such as zinc, iron and omega-6 fatty acids.

GREEN PEAS - Although green peas are not rich in antioxidants or any specific vitamin or mineral, they contain a well-balanced amount of vitamins and minerals such as iron, zinc and B group vitamins. These are essential for maintaining healthy hair.

WALNUTS- walnuts are one of the most hair friendly nuts in the category. Not only do walnuts have more omega-6 fatty acids than any other food, but they're also full of zinc, iron, B vitamins (B1, B6 and B9).

LOW-FAT DAIRY PRODUCTS - Low-fat dairy products like skim milk and yogurt are great sources of calcium, an important mineral for hair growth. They also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources. Add a cup of yogurt or cottage cheese to your snack list and to help prevent hair loss, stir in a few tablespoons of flax seed or walnuts for your required dose of omega 3 fatty acids and zinc.

TO MAINTAIN HEALTHY HAIRS

To condition or not to condition, to oil or not to oil - when it comes to your hair you'll find all kinds of advice. Before you pick your choice of treatment, here are a few things you must know.

1. It's normal to lose 100 to 150 strands of hair a day so don't panic when you see a small bunch falling out.

2.  Trim your hair every few weeks to get rid of those brown and rough split ends. Cut about 1/4th an inch of your hair every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid the split ends to grow out again.

3. Don't wash your hair everyday and whenever you do, apply some conditioner on the ends. Try and use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner.

4.  Comb wet hair with extreme care because they're fragile and prone to breakage. Take a broad toothed comb and run it from the roots to the ends of your hair as gently as possible.

5.  Rinse the conditioner off with cold water as it is good for both strength and shine.

6.  If you've got dry hair then it's best to avoid coloring.,Use lemon, chamomile tea or honey as they work as great hair lighteners. You can add lemon juice to water and spray it over your hair when you're heading out. You can rinse your hair with brewed chamomile tea after you wash them with shampoo or add honey to the water you use to wash your hair.

Does bleach cause harm to your hairs ???

Bleaching and highlighting can cause damage to your hairs. Bleach and highlights remove color from your hair by the process of oxidation. Oxidation decolorizes the pigment in your hair shaft, which is why bleach will turn your hair almost white if it’s left on for too long. Very bleached hair often gains a yellow tint, because keratin (the protein your hair is made of) is naturally a pale yellow.  Hydrogen peroxide and ammonia are the most commonly used ones and are often mixed together, as used separately they’re unstable and very slow in lightening the hair.Of all coloring methods, bleach is potentially the most damaging, and therefore should ideally always be done professionally. Bleaching raises your hairs’ outer cuticle, allowing the bleaching agent to fully penetrate. However, repeated bleaching can permanently raise the cuticle scales and allow rapid and continuous loss of moisture.

 DAMAGE CAUSED BY BLEACHING

Damage from bleach includes dry, brittle, inelastic hair, and hair  that is more prone to breakage and split ends. Bleached hair is also more porous and swollen and therefore more vulnerable to other chemical and non-chemical processes. These include everything from permanent wave solutions in curling or straightening to regular heated styling with blow-dryers.

Bleaches can cause burns to your scalp (or any tissue that it comes in contact with). If you experience any sort of discomfort during processing, you must let your stylist know straight away. The best way to combat dryness, brittleness and breakage is to use a pre-shampoo deep conditioning treatment three days before and also after bleaching or highlighting, and then weekly thereafter. This plumps your hair with moisture, making it more elastic and less likely to snap. The correct pre-shampoo treatments also add shine, manageability and bounce.

Use a daily damage defence product to keep your hair hydrated, shiny and protected from daily environmental damage. Products like these also help to seal gaps caused by a raised cuticle. While you may not be styling your hair throughout the day, pollution, air conditioning/central heating, wind and UV rays.
Turn off your blow-dryer when your hair is ‘just dry’. Overheating and drying bleached hair further reduces moisture and elasticity.

Use a smoothing product to help close and smooth your hair cuticle. This will help reduce moisture evaporation and also give your hair a glossier and healthier appearance.

LIFESTYLE THAT TRIGGERS FOR HAIR LOSS

Your diet gives you the building blocks necessary to support a healthy body, and if you do not give it the building blocks it needs to produce healthy hair, it won’t, the following substances and conditions are  linked to a greater chance for hair loss:

Image result for does sugary food cause hair loss

CAFFEINE

The studies revealed that men who drank higher levels of caffeine were more likely to have hair loss as they aged. One possible reason for this connection could be that caffeine triggers the stress response in the body. High levels of stress are linked with a greater likelihood of future hair loss.

STRESS

Are you constantly stressed? If you don’t relax you might be contributing to your hair loss. The studies found that men and women who led a more stressful lifestyle were more likely to lose their hair.

FATTY ACIDS

Researchers found that certain fatty acids helped protect hair while others interfered with hair health. A diet high in omega 6 fatty acids were more likely to lead to an increased risk for hair loss, while omega 3 fatty acids protected hair health.

SMOKING

Men and women who smoked were more likely to see hair loss in greater amounts than men and women who abstained from smoking.

ALCOHOL

Men and women who drank more than 1-2 glasses of an alcoholic beverage per night had a higher chance of balding as they aged.

DANDRUFF

Researchers found that dandruff weakens the hair follicle, leading to hair thinning and hair loss.

Thinning of hairs due to tight ponytails!!!

There are many causes of hair loss including medications, thyroid disease, iron deficiency, even having a baby. Most of these causes result in temporary hair loss — the hair eventually grows back. Some types of hair loss, however, are permanent; this is called scarring or cicatrical alopecia. A common scarring hair loss in women is traction alopecia.

Traction alopecia occurs when hair is pulled too tightly for long periods of time. It occurs often in girls and women who braid their hair, but can also be seen in women who pull their hair back tightly in a pony-tail or a bun. Over months and years the hair loss becomes permanent, and cannot regrow. It can be seen in men, but is more common in women. It can also affect children as well as in adults.

In traction alopecia the worst hair loss is in areas where the hair is pulled the tightest, usually the forehead and temples. It can be subtle at first, but becomes apparent over years as the hair line recedes from ear to ear starting farther and farther back on the head.

The hair is lost because the tension from pulling damages the hair follicles beneath the skin. Each follicle is in an active state for years before it takes a short rest, sheds the hair, then starts all over again. Over time, pulling the follicle damages it and eventually the damaged follicle can no longer make hair. Because you cannot develop new follicles, as more and more follicles are damaged, more and more permanent hair loss results.

If you have hair loss, then you should seek an expert advice. He or she can examine your scalp and can often prescribe medications, perform hair transplant surgery, or make suggestions on changing your hairstyle that can save your hair.

CAN MEDITATION TREAT HAIR LOSS ???

Suffering from losing hair or thinning hair is stressful. Excessive worrying and stress can contribute to increased anxiety resulting in more hair loss. Meditation may be an effective hair loss treatment for both men and women. By creating an outlet, meditation can help to reduce the body’s response to tension and stress.

Meditation improves thought processes, increases energy, reduces stress and tension, and restores your hormonal balance. If stress causes hair loss, it would seem that the reduction of stress would reverse the loss. If only it were that simple. Some hair loss may be related to stress, and, in some cases, it is possible that hair loss could be reversed. But it depends upon the type of hair loss. There is a generally accepted link between high levels of stress and hair loss. Those two types of hair loss that can be associated with high stress levels.

  • Telogen Effluvium: The most common form, this type results in faster than normal hair loss all over your head
  • Alopecia Areata: This usually involves patchy hair loss, and bald patches approximately the size of a quarter. In extreme cases, alopecia areata may affect all the hair on a person's head, including eyebrows and eyelashes.
MEDITATION THERAPY FOR HAIR LOSS:-

Most cases of stress related hair loss can be reversed. A simple treatment, meditation has shown to reduce stress in both men and women. In as little as five to ten minutes of mediation practiced daily can help to reset your emotions, calm your mind, and reduced stress levels, may even help to reduce hair loss as stress and hair loss are inter-related. You can try out some small exercises :-

  • Set aside time each day for practice - start small, in three to five minute time slots.
  • Focus on deep breathing
  • Stretch your muscles to begin the process of looking inward
  • Let thoughts simply float out of your mind and focus on your breathing
These small exercises can relieve you from stress and ultimately improving hair growth.. For more regrowth treatment options..call our experts now..9643636652 or visit www.cosmoworldclinics.com

Does Vitamin B12 deficiency cause hair loss ???

Vitamin B12 is also called ‘the energy vitamin’ – because it helps your body to create energy from what you eat.
B12 also plays an important role in our hair growth and hair colour,Vitamin B12, also known by scientific name cobalamin, is one of the eight B vitamins.
Interestingly, vitamin B12 has the lowest daily requirement of all the B vitamins. To grow new hair, the hair cells must constantly divide. And as we saw above B12 is required for making of every cell as well as its longevity. So a lack of B12 will cause hair growth to slow down a lot or in few cases even stop completely.

How B12 deficiency turns hair Grey

Low levels of B12 can cause the homocysteine levels to rise.
Elevated homocysteine is not good for our body as well as our hair.
This is because a high level of homocysteine is known to generate hydrogen peroxide – which literally bleaches and the hair from the inside out, turning your hair grey. (Raised homocysteine is also a risk factor for heart disease, Alzheimer, and stroke).
It seems that taking B12 vitamin can lower homocysteine levels, and thus cause grey hair to darken and lost hair to regrow.

EFFECTS OF SMOKING DURING RECOVERY OF HAIR TRANSPLANT

For all those suffering from the embarrassment of baldness, surgical hair restoration is no less than a blessing. A hair transplant surgery not only allows you to get the locks back but also your lost self confidence and self esteem as well. It usually takes 8 to 12 months before a person starts enjoying full results of the treatment. One thing that you have to strictly avoid before and after surgery is smoking.People usually believe that the hazardous effects of smoking are limited mouth, lungs and heart only, which is not the case in reality.

Cigarettes that you smoke before a transplant will adversely affect your hair transplantation, whereas smoking after the surgery has some serious consequences on hair transplant recovery.

Healthy blood circulation to the scalp is absolutely essential for the survival of hair follicles just transplanted. But it is proven that nicotine in cigarettes constricts blood vessels, affecting their ability to supply blood to different parts of the body, including your scalp. Anything that affects blood circulation in the body can affect healing process time. If you will smoke after hair transplant, it will affect blood supply to the scalp, causing the newly transplanted follicles to worn out and die even before they begin to grow in their new locations.
In fact, smoking should be avoided after any surgery, regardless of how invasive or minimally invasive it is, therefore for better growth and to increase the longevity of the treatment , one has to discontinue this habit.

Hormone Horror that cause hair loss

If hormones can zap your energy ,it’s probably no surprise that they can also turn your tresses into a mess. Here are just a few ways that hormonal issues can cause hair loss:

1. Excess Estrogen.

Estrogen, the power player in women’s bodies, is your friend when it’s appropriately balanced. It makes you feel energized, helps stabilize your moods . Yet too much estrogen, which can be caused by weight gain, perimenopause or toxicity from exposure to endocrine disruptors (which are rampant in our food, water and plastic products), can lead to thinning hair. During and after pregnancy, for example, estrogen levels peak and then dip, causing sudden hair loss for many women.

2. Insulin Issues.

Insulin, that helper hormone in charge of regulating blood sugar levels, also affects a number of different body processes, including fat storage, heart health and, you guessed it, hair growth. One study published in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Risk found that women with some markers of insulin resistance have a greater risk for androgenic alopecia (AGA), or female pattern baldness.

3. Tricky Testosterone.

In men, testosterone is associated with being big, burly . But too much testosterone in women creates all sorts of unpleasant results. Namely, it can cause hair growth on the face, neck or chest, and hair loss on your head. Not pretty.

4. Thyroid Woes.

Your body is an intelligent system. So when it’s under stress due to hormonal imbalances, like fluctuating thyroid levels, it redirects energy used for noncritical processes (hair growth) to more important matters at hand (balancing your hormones). Low thyroid is often the cause of that thinning scalp some women get as they age.

Healthy and beautiful hair starts with a healthy scalp

It’s logical, isn’t it? This is why it’s extremely important to take a great care of your scalp.

Here is one easy tip: never apply a hair conditioner to the roots of your hair! Not only it will cause the loss of volume and your hair might get oily very quickly, but also, some hair conditioners contain waxes and silicons and, if you apply them to your scalp on a regular basis, it can prevent the skin on your head from breathing and clog pores.

Conclusion: apply your hair conditioner only on the length of your hair.
