Thinning of hairs due to tight ponytails!!!
There are many causes of hair loss including medications, thyroid disease, iron deficiency, even having a baby. Most of these causes result in temporary hair loss — the hair eventually grows back. Some types of hair loss, however, are permanent; this is called scarring or cicatrical alopecia. A common scarring hair loss in women is traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia occurs when hair is pulled too tightly for long periods of time. It occurs often in girls and women who braid their hair, but can also be seen in women who pull their hair back tightly in a pony-tail or a bun. Over months and years the hair loss becomes permanent, and cannot regrow. It can be seen in men, but is more common in women. It can also affect children as well as in adults.
In traction alopecia the worst hair loss is in areas where the hair is pulled the tightest, usually the forehead and temples. It can be subtle at first, but becomes apparent over years as the hair line recedes from ear to ear starting farther and farther back on the head.
The hair is lost because the tension from pulling damages the hair follicles beneath the skin. Each follicle is in an active state for years before it takes a short rest, sheds the hair, then starts all over again. Over time, pulling the follicle damages it and eventually the damaged follicle can no longer make hair. Because you cannot develop new follicles, as more and more follicles are damaged, more and more permanent hair loss results.
If you have hair loss, then you should seek an expert advice. He or she can examine your scalp and can often prescribe medications, perform hair transplant surgery, or make suggestions on changing your hairstyle that can save your hair.

IS RECEDING HAIRLINE A PROBLEM ???
Aging brings a number of diseases and complaints and hair loss and baldness is one of them. Hair loss is more common in men as compared to women. The majority of people suffer from noticeable hair loss when they are in their 30s and this loss becomes serious as they go over 50 years old. As they enter their middle age, the thinning of hair begins turning into baldness and it is very upsetting to see your hairline receding day by day,it lowers down your self confidence. Through this post we will focus on receding hairlines in female and males as well as their causes...
RECEDING HAIRLINE IN MALES-
RECEDING HAIRLINE IN MALES-
n men, this change is more noticeable as men have short hair and their hairline is easily differentiable. Mostly a man’s receding hairline is noticed by his friends earlier than himself.
Have regular check on your hairline for any gaps of hair on your scalp. Center part your hair and pull hair down to reveal your scalp and see if somewhere the gap is widened than before. If that is the case, it is clear indication of thinning of hair that can lead to receding hairline.
RECEDING HAIR LINE IN FEMALES-
Women can only notice the problem with thinning of hair as they rarely go bald so usually they don’t experience receding hairline. Thinning of hair can be extremely annoying for women as every woman loves her hair.
There are only two ways to detect the problem and one is to keep an eye on your hair tie like if you need another loop of the same hair band to secure your hair, it means that you have gradual hair loss.
Similarly check your hair brush regularly after every brushing session, if you daily see a lot of hair entangled in the brush, it is a clear sign of hair loss. Plus after every wash, there will be more hair seen on bathroom floor or in the bath tub when you are experiencing above average hair fall.
WHAT CAN BE THE CAUSES ???
- There are several factors that contribute to receding hairline. Male pattern baldness is called androgenic alopecia and it originates through the production of dihydrotestosterone that shrinks the hair follicles by sticking to them.
- Some people are genetically prone to baldness and any side of the family can be responsible for this hair loss.
- Stress can also be a factor that causes receding hairline.
- Receding hairline can occur as a result of taking drugs, alcohol, having gone through a trauma or surgery, being slowly poisoned, after effects of childbirth.
- One of the main causes of receding hairline in women is the reduction of their estrogen levels. Similarly men can experience more hair fall when their testosterone levels decrease and that is why this problem is associated with ageing
- Receding hairline in men and women can be a side effect of medicines of blood pressure, heart disease, depression, cholesterol, and gout.

How often you wash your head ???
How often should you wash your hair, this is the question that arises in your mind once in a while .Back in the day, we wouldn’t dream of going a whole hours without some shampoo, but then we started hearing that it is bad to wash your hair every day and there are even people out there who can make their blow-out last a whole week. so now we will try to find out the correct protocol for it.
Is there any thumb rule for the number of days you can go without washing your hair?
It depends on your hair type. Hair that’s thicker and curlier can go without a wash for longer than hair that is fine. For this reason, curly hair types should especially be careful not to wash hair too frequently—and avoid shampoos with harsh sulfates, which strip the hair of the natural oils. You can consider a co-wash (using a conditioner instead of shampoo) or use a sulfate-free shampoo if washing more than twice a week.
Lifestyle also plays a part. For example, if you workout daily, you’re going to need to wash your hair more often to feel clean after sweating. If you have an oily scalp and thin, fine hair, your hair will start to look flat and dirty after 24 hours. If your hair is pin straight, an oily scalp will show more easily too. The flip side is with thick, curly hair, you may be able to go three days without needing a shampoo.
Washing hair every day removes our natural oils and proteins, causing our hair to dry out quicker. Shampoo strips the oils from the hair, and we need those oils to help our scalp and hair to be healthy.
Some people shampoo so frequently and strip the natural oil in their hair so much that it becomes very frizzy and there day after hair actually looks better when oil has accumulated on the scalp to tame these wild hair shafts.
The correct way is to find a shampoo, conditioner, and a cocktail of products that balances your scalp and hair so you can wash every third or fifth day. If one has hair on the finer side it is recommended to use a volumizing shampoo so that it remains light and won’t get greasy too fast. and if some one has course, dry, thick hair you need a shampoo that can moisturize and balance the scalp and hair.
At most, try washing your hair every other day. Every two days is even better ,If your hair gets oily after only a day, try using some hair powder or dry shampoo on your roots to soak up some of that excess oil. There are also tons of products on the market for in-between wash days that will help your hair get some extra lift and smell fresh. After the gym, or going out in pollution , cover your head and after coming back , you can rinse your hairs thoroughly with water as well. You must wash use shampoo each time after a workout, try a shampoo that’s made for daily cleansing—they’re usually less harsh on your hair.
These are some of the daily cleansing tips that can help your hair stay longer and lustrous.

DERMA ROLLERS IN HAIR LOSS !!!
A derma roller is a handheld device with a wheel attached to a handle. The wheel is outfitted with tiny needles, just a few millimeters long. The device is rolled over the skin, causing the needles to press against the tissue. Originally, the derma roller was used to address skin imperfections, but now a days its been showing its result in hair loss treatment as well.
Hair growth relies on genes that promote the development of new hair cells. This takes place within the hair follicles, the small openings that cover the scalp as well as the rest of the body. A number of chemicals are needed to trigger the production of hair cells, and one of the most important of these is the human growth factor and derma roller works by triggering the production of human growth factor. When the needles are rolled along the skin, they cause minor surface wounds to the tissue. The body then must work to produce new skin in the area of the wound and releases the human growth hormone and other chemicals to assist with this process and when these chemicals are released they also stimulate the growth of hair in the affected area, which can help begin regrowth in areas of thinning.

The Dermaroller works by causing very minor damage to the skin (puncturing the skin with the tiny needles). This encourages the skin to regenerate and heal, where it would otherwise not do so.
Because the Dermaroller stimulates regeneration in the areas it is applied to, it can also work to stimulate hair re-growth (in places where hair loss has occurred). Stimulating blood circulation has been proved effective in hair growth because it increases the supply to the scalp thus encouraging increased hair growth.
Increased blood circulation in the scalp may also help reduce DHT levels in scalp because the increased blood flow may help remove more DHT from the hair papilla . Dermarollers can be used as one of the effective tools in hair loss.

Is switching to sulphate free shampoo a better option ???
Some people have scalps that are sensitive to the effects of sulphate and often experience scalp itchiness and inflammation as a result, shampoos that contain sulphate also causes pigmentation from hair dye to fade away much faster. Sulphate plays a role in significantly weakening the hair follicles and hair strands when used for a prolonged period of time and makes the hair brittle and prone to breakage.
There are many benefits of using sulphate free shampoo for your hairs:-
1.REDUCES THE CHANCES OF DEVELOPING IRRITATION OR INFLAMMATION WITHIN SCALP.
2.INCREASES MOISTURE RETENTION WITHIN THE HAIR.
3.IMPROVES AND RETAINS THE HAIR'S NATURAL OILS.
4. RETAINS HAIR COLOR IN DYED HAIR FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME.
5. PREVENT THE SCALP FROM ABSORBING HARMFUL CHEMICALS.
Sulphate free shampoo benefits those with sensitive scalps, dyed hair and a distinct sensitivity to sulphate and similar substances. So, if you suspect your hair is not responding well to regular shampoo, then you can switch to sulphate free shampoos.

CAN MEDITATION TREAT HAIR LOSS ???
Suffering from losing hair or thinning hair is stressful. Excessive worrying and stress can contribute to increased anxiety resulting in more hair loss. Meditation may be an effective hair loss treatment for both men and women. By creating an outlet, meditation can help to reduce the body’s response to tension and stress.
Meditation improves thought processes, increases energy, reduces stress and tension, and restores your hormonal balance. If stress causes hair loss, it would seem that the reduction of stress would reverse the loss. If only it were that simple. Some hair loss may be related to stress, and, in some cases, it is possible that hair loss could be reversed. But it depends upon the type of hair loss. There is a generally accepted link between high levels of stress and hair loss. Those two types of hair loss that can be associated with high stress levels.

- Telogen Effluvium: The most common form, this type results in faster than normal hair loss all over your head
- Alopecia Areata: This usually involves patchy hair loss, and bald patches approximately the size of a quarter. In extreme cases, alopecia areata may affect all the hair on a person's head, including eyebrows and eyelashes.
MEDITATION THERAPY FOR HAIR LOSS:-
Most cases of stress related hair loss can be reversed. A simple treatment, meditation has shown to reduce stress in both men and women. In as little as five to ten minutes of mediation practiced daily can help to reset your emotions, calm your mind, and reduced stress levels, may even help to reduce hair loss as stress and hair loss are inter-related. You can try out some small exercises :-
- Set aside time each day for practice - start small, in three to five minute time slots.
- Focus on deep breathing
- Stretch your muscles to begin the process of looking inward
- Let thoughts simply float out of your mind and focus on your breathing
These small exercises can relieve you from stress and ultimately improving hair growth.. For more regrowth treatment options..call our experts now..9643636652 or visit www.cosmoworldclinics.com

AVOID GREASY HAIRS !!!
1. Wash your hair frequently but not every day- Daily washing may cause the oils to be stripped too quickly, encouraging them to come back as even oilier to make up for the loss. If you have naturally greasy hair, it's recommended that you only wash it every 2-3 days.
2. Be careful with conditioners - Avoid using them at the root as this part of the hair is already moisturized by the natural oils (grease) produced within hours of washing your hair. A conditioner is actually meant to nourish the drier ends anyway, so try to keep its use just for the lower half of your hair.
3. Be choosy about the styling products you use. Don't use too much or you'll weigh your hair down and residue could accumulate. Stay away from gloppy gels, because they will make your hair look greasy when it's not.

4. Brush only as much as needed to make your hair neat. Do not over-brush your hair as brushing is stimuli to the oil glands and this is likely to increase oil production.
5. Avoid touching or brushing your hair as much as possible. This is important especially after eating or preparing greasy foods, as you might transfer the food oils into your hair. The same with oily makeup––pin your hair back of your face before applying the makeup and don't touch your hair with fingers covered in makeup. Keep your hair neat without touching it too much also––use a comb to remove tangles, not your fingers.
4. Cut split ends off your hair regularly. This will help to keep your hair from becoming more damaged and it will appear thicker and stronger.
5. Blow dry your hair off your forehead. Your forehead can be an oily skin zone, so keeping hair off your forehead will help to ensure that it doesn't absorb the oils from your skin.
6. Do not straighten your hair regularly. Straightening the hair really damages it, both through heat or chemical processes. The heat from the straighteners makes your hair produce grease, and since you'll be touching your hair to straighten it, this risks producing more grease.

Perm chemicals causing hair breakage and scalp pain
Trying out new trends to remain updated with the surroundings have become a necessity. Styling your hairs and giving them a new look makes you happy and we often try some latest things on hairs and end up landing with so many hair problems.
Even though getting a perm can be unpleasant at times, pain and hair breakage are not normal and should not accompany any perm service. All types of perms, including relaxers, use harsh chemicals that break down the chemical bonds of the hair. If used properly, the chemicals should not cause pain. However, operator error can lead to disastrous results including hair loss, chemical burns and severe hair damage.
Pain and scalp tenderness appear immediately after a harsh perm service. The irritated scalp and surrounding skin appears red. In extreme cases, blisters are present. Where there is pain, breakage usually follows. After a few days, breakage can be felt close to the scalp along the partings used for the perm rods. The breakage feels like stubble.
What can be the causes?
Several things can cause hair breakage and scalp pain after a perm. If the rods are rolled too tight against the head or if the rods are allowed to rock back and forth while rinsing or blotting, the scalp can become very sore. Breakage can occur if too much tension prevents the hair from expanding and shrinking during the perm process. The perm chemicals themselves can irritate or burn the scalp. If the chemicals are too harsh or if they are left on the head for too long, they weaken and break the hair.
TREATMENT AND PREVENTION
In the case of blisters and third-degree burns, seek medical attention. Treat mild irritation with aloe gel or soothing lotions. Treat extreme breakage with weekly conditioning treatments. While you cannot reverse breakage that has already occurred, you can prevent new breakage by strengthening and repairing the hair. Scalp pain and hair breakage are entirely preventable. Make sure that perm rods are placed in your hair with minimal tension. You should not be able to feel pulling once perm rods are in place. Wrap cotton rope around your hairline to prevent perm solution from pooling on the skin. Change the cotton immediately after the application of the perm solution. Alert your stylist to any burning or irritation felt during the perm process. Since most problems associated with perms are caused by stylist error, choose your stylist carefully.

Does Vitamin B12 deficiency cause hair loss ???
Vitamin B12 is also called ‘the energy vitamin’ – because it helps your body to create energy from what you eat.
B12 also plays an important role in our hair growth and hair colour,Vitamin B12, also known by scientific name cobalamin, is one of the eight B vitamins.
Interestingly, vitamin B12 has the lowest daily requirement of all the B vitamins. To grow new hair, the hair cells must constantly divide. And as we saw above B12 is required for making of every cell as well as its longevity. So a lack of B12 will cause hair growth to slow down a lot or in few cases even stop completely.
How B12 deficiency turns hair Grey
Low levels of B12 can cause the homocysteine levels to rise.
Elevated homocysteine is not good for our body as well as our hair.
This is because a high level of homocysteine is known to generate hydrogen peroxide – which literally bleaches and the hair from the inside out, turning your hair grey. (Raised homocysteine is also a risk factor for heart disease, Alzheimer, and stroke).
It seems that taking B12 vitamin can lower homocysteine levels, and thus cause grey hair to darken and lost hair to regrow.

CLIMATE AND HAIR
Weather affects every aspect of our lives. With all the ways that weather affects us, it’s little wonder that it can play such havoc on our hair. There are many ways that weather affects us. Let's see some of the effects of weather on our hairs:-
Summer:
The physical side bonds in our hair are broken by the application of heat and water. This is why we are able to style the hair using wet sets on rollers, and by using blow-dryers, curling irons and flat iron. Exposing styled hair to a hot, humid environment causes these side bonds to break again allowing the hair to return to its natural state. Naturally straight hair will have its curls begin to collapse. Naturally curly hair that has been ironed will begin to frizz and slide back into its curly state.
Some styling products can help to seal the hair shaft and make the hair resistant to the effects of weather, but they can only do so much in very intense weather situations.
Another “weather effect” that’s common in the summer is sun damage. In the same way that UV rays from the sun affect the melanin in the skin, it also causes changes in the melanin in the hair. Prolonged sun exposure can lighten the hair, and sometimes, when dealing with artificial hair color, can alter the color to an undesired shade. The UV rays penetrate the hair shaft and disperse the melanin that gives the hair its color.

Winter:
The most common weather-related effects on the hair during winter come from the cold (or specifically the constant changes from cold to warm environments) and from static. Cold, dry air can cause the cuticle layer of the hair to lift, and going into a warm, dry interior environment then leeches the moisture out of the hair, leaving it dry and frizzy. This also provides the perfect conditions for static, which can make the hair very unruly.
Wind:
Wind can also damage the hair. Exposure to strong persistent winds can create tangles in wavy and curly long hair. The wind buffets the hairs against one another which rough the cuticle layer causing the hairs to catch on one another. In addition, hair that is repeatedly buffeted in strong or gusting winds can develop split ends as the hairs brush against one another.

EFFECTS OF SMOKING DURING RECOVERY OF HAIR TRANSPLANT
For all those suffering from the embarrassment of baldness, surgical hair restoration is no less than a blessing. A hair transplant surgery not only allows you to get the locks back but also your lost self confidence and self esteem as well. It usually takes 8 to 12 months before a person starts enjoying full results of the treatment. One thing that you have to strictly avoid before and after surgery is smoking.People usually believe that the hazardous effects of smoking are limited mouth, lungs and heart only, which is not the case in reality.
Cigarettes that you smoke before a transplant will adversely affect your hair transplantation, whereas smoking after the surgery has some serious consequences on hair transplant recovery.
Healthy blood circulation to the scalp is absolutely essential for the survival of hair follicles just transplanted. But it is proven that nicotine in cigarettes constricts blood vessels, affecting their ability to supply blood to different parts of the body, including your scalp. Anything that affects blood circulation in the body can affect healing process time. If you will smoke after hair transplant, it will affect blood supply to the scalp, causing the newly transplanted follicles to worn out and die even before they begin to grow in their new locations.
In fact, smoking should be avoided after any surgery, regardless of how invasive or minimally invasive it is, therefore for better growth and to increase the longevity of the treatment , one has to discontinue this habit.

IS CONDITIONING REALLY IMPORTANT FOR YOUR HAIRS ???
As our daily routine and lifestyles are changing ,it is causing effects on our body . Let's talk about your environment that is causing hazardous effects on your hairs. As hairs are the beautiful assest and everyone would love to cherish that beauty but now a days, you have been exposing your hair to chemicals and heat causing damage to your hairs so you need to condition it through the use of conditioners which are available easily. Chemically treated hairs are prone to damage and it loses its natural oil and nutrients that maintains its healthiness and shine. These days, there are lots of chemicals and formula meant to straighten the hair permanently, the chemicals used for these treatments are not really good for the hair that’s why you need to invest on essential treatments that will bring back the nourishment and shine on your hair.
Chemicals used for straightening, coloring and others will leave your hair dull, full of split ends and dry. All these factors contribute to the damaged hair. There are 2 types of conditioners you can use for your hair according to your needs. There are where leave on that you can apply after shampooing your hair and leave it that way and yet continuously conditions the hair without rinsing it afterwards. The other type is the conventional type which should be rinsed off right after applying and massaging your hair with conditioners. It is very essential for you to condition your hair after shampooing so that you will be able to maintain the natural nourishment of your hair even after doing treatments such as straightening, coloring, and other hair enhancers.
It’s not really bad to apply certain products on your hair to enhance your look; all you need to do is to maintain its natural balance by simply applying some conditioner to repair the damaged follicles. Conditioners are not just the important solution to your brittle and dry hair. Functions of Hair Follicle
Hair is the only body part of human beings that can be changed to influence social interaction and plays important role in body's defence mechanism. Apart from the biological function that hair has, like protection from elements and distribution of sweat glands, hair also plays an important psycho emotional role in the lives of humans. Hair in mammals is composed of the hair follicle and the hair shaft. The hair follicle is formed as a small finger like structure from the embryonic epidermis. The follicles in different parts of the body are different and produce hair fibers of different size, shape and color. The fibers are coarse when they form the body hair or scalp hair. These are known as terminal hair. The finer downy hair on the face is known as vellus hair.
Hair responds to external stimuli and any movement of the fiber is picked up by the follicle to transmit a message to the nervous system.
Hair also plays a part in controlling the body heat by providing insulation against sudden heat loss or gain.
The hair follicle often acts as a sensory organ for the skin. Mechanical stimuli above the skin are detected by the skin and when the hair moves even slightly, neuroreceptors in the follicles transmit a message to the nervous system.
Hair follicles often play the role of key mediators of stress signaling through sensitivity to and synthesis of neuroendocrine activities.
Functions of the hair follicle
The main function of the hair follicle is to produce a hair shaft or fiber. The shaft is the physically visible portion of the hair and plays a significant role both biologically and psychologically.
The hair shaft is composed of three parts – the cuticle, the cortex and the medulla. The cuticle is a single row of cells, which forms the outermost layer of the shaft. The cortex forms the bulk of the hair. This contains melanin, which is responsible for hair pigmentation. The medulla is the central portion of terminal hairs.Hair responds to external stimuli and any movement of the fiber is picked up by the follicle to transmit a message to the nervous system.

Does Laser Therapy really work ???
Low level laser therapy, is basically a therapy used to control hairfall and increase the density of the concerned area. It is a process in which photons are irradiated into the human tissue to be absorbed by weak cells so that they can regain their health. This allows them to regain functionality and make sure the body can return to its regular processes. While this isn’t always specifically directed at regrowing hair, if applied correctly, it can have positive effects on hair regrowth. It helps in adding volume and thickness to your hairs.
The success rate of laser hair therapy varies greatly from person to person depending on the severity of your hair loss.
It is a treatment that is now commonly available in order to stimulate hair growth and help fight against hair loss and thinning hair. Laser hair therapy treatment is often used in combination with other treatments too i.e Mesotherapy.
It is one of the easiest and safest method for increasing the shelf life of your hairs and is economical as well.
